Too $hort Says He’ll Attend Diddy’s Welcome-Home Party After Prison Release
Rapper Too $hort says he plans to attend Sean “Diddy” Combs’ first party after the music mogul is released from federal prison.
During an appearance on The TMZ Podcast, Too $hort made it clear that he still considers Diddy a friend and intends to support him when he returns home.
“I’m going to the Puff Daddy coming home party,” Too $hort said, according to TMZ.
Diddy is currently serving a federal prison sentence after being convicted in 2025 on two counts related to transporting people across state lines for prostitution. A jury acquitted him of the more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. He was subsequently sentenced to 50 months in federal prison.
Too $hort Addresses Diddy’s Controversies
While discussing his relationship with Diddy, Too $hort distinguished between Diddy’s private sexual conduct and the violent behavior shown in a hotel surveillance video involving Cassie Ventura.
Too $hort said the surveillance footage showing Diddy kicking Ventura was something he did judge Diddy for, describing the behavior as violent.
At the same time, he said that throughout the years he knew Diddy, he personally did not witness anything beyond what he characterized as ordinary partying involving music, marijuana and people socializing.
Diddy’s criminal case ultimately resulted in convictions on two prostitution-related transportation counts, while the jury found him not guilty of racketeering and sex trafficking.
Diddy’s Release Date
According to Federal Bureau of Prisons records cited by TMZ, Diddy is currently scheduled to be released from FCI Fort Dix on January 21, 2028.
The projected date has changed several times. It was previously listed as February 5, 2028 and February 20, 2028 before being moved again.
That means Too $hort’s proposed welcome-home celebration could still be more than a year away.
Too $hort Advises Diddy to Take It Slowly
Too $hort also offered advice about what Diddy should do after leaving prison.
Rather than immediately making a major public comeback, he suggested that Diddy should be cautious about returning to the spotlight.
He referenced Bill Cosby’s highly publicized attempt to return to entertainment following his release from prison, suggesting that Diddy should avoid making an overly dramatic comeback.
Too $hort said Diddy could instead “test the waters” before deciding how much he wants to return to public life.
For now, however, Too $hort has already made his position clear: if Diddy eventually hosts a welcome-home party, he says he plans to be there.
