🚨 ICE Agent Arrested in Minneapolis Shooting Case, Faces Felony Assault Charges
A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent has been arrested in Minneapolis in connection with the January shooting of Venezuelan national Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis.
Christian Castro, 52, was taken into custody by Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension agents and booked into Hennepin County Jail. Prosecutors accuse him of firing through the closed door of an apartment, striking Sosa-Celis in the leg. �

Castro faces four felony counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and a charge of falsely reporting a crime. Prosecutors say his original account that he had been attacked with a shovel and broom was contradicted by surveillance video. �

The case has also resulted in federal charges alleging that Castro made false statements to investigators. He pleaded not guilty to those federal allegations on September 18. �
