Do tragicznego wypadku doszło w Ugandzie, w dystrykcie Kapchorwa. Autobus przewożący głównie dzieci z nieustalonych dotąd przyczyn zjechał z drogi, uderzył w duży głaz, a następnie dachował. W wyniku katastrofy zginęło co najmniej 21 osób, a większość ofiar stanowią dzieci.
Na miejsce natychmiast skierowano służby ratunkowe, które udzielały pomocy poszkodowanym i transportowały rannych do okolicznych szpitali. Dokładna liczba osób rannych oraz ich stan zdrowia są nadal ustalane.
Władze rozpoczęły dochodzenie, które ma wyjaśnić przyczyny tragedii. Śledczy sprawdzają m.in. stan techniczny autobusu oraz okoliczności, które doprowadziły do utraty panowania nad pojazdem.
