Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky Reveal Baby’s Name — And It Has a Special ‘A Star Is Born’ Connection
Lady Gaga and her fiancé, Michael Polansky, have revealed a touching detail about their first child — including a name that appears to carry a deep connection to one of Gaga’s most memorable movie performances.
The couple’s baby girl is named Rose Bean Polansky, according to a birth certificate obtained by TMZ and reports from PEOPLE. The baby was born on June 9 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
The choice of Rose appears especially meaningful. A source told PEOPLE that the name was inspired by “La Vie En Rose,” the classic Edith Piaf song Gaga performed in the 2018 film A Star Is Born. Gaga also has a large rose tattoo running down her spine alongside the words “la vie en rose.”
The middle name Bean may carry another musical connection. According to the same reporting, it is believed to honor singer and activist Carl Bean, whose work inspired Gaga’s 2011 hit “Born This Way.”
Gaga and Polansky have kept their family life largely private since welcoming their daughter. The couple became engaged in 2024 after several years together, and Gaga has previously spoken openly about wanting motherhood to become an important part of her life.
For fans of A Star Is Born, the name Rose makes the arrival of Gaga’s first child feel even more personal — linking her new chapter as a mother to one of the defining artistic moments of her career.
