**Pam Bondi Finally Breaks Silence on Why Trump and Howard Lutnick Photos Vanished From Epstein File Release**
Former U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi has publicly addressed growing controversy surrounding the temporary disappearance of photographs involving Donald Trump and Howard Lutnick from the Justice Department’s release of Jeffrey Epstein-related records.
During testimony before congressional investigators, Bondi said a photograph showing Lutnick with Epstein was removed after officials mistakenly believed it may have been generated or altered using artificial intelligence. According to Bondi, the image was later restored once its authenticity was verified
Her explanation comes after months of criticism from lawmakers and transparency advocates who questioned why certain images and documents appeared to disappear from public databases after their initial release. A separate photograph featuring Trump and Epstein had also been temporarily removed before being reinstated. Justice Department officials previously said that image was pulled for review following concerns about victim identification and privacy protections, not for political reasons.
Bondi also sought to distance herself from decisions surrounding the broader Epstein file rollout, telling investigators that much of the review and release process was overseen by then-Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. She acknowledged that mistakes occurred during the release but maintained that officials were attempting to balance transparency with legal and privacy obligations.
The revelations have fueled renewed scrutiny of the government’s handling of the Epstein records, with lawmakers from both parties continuing to demand answers about document removals, redactions, and the overall management of the high-profile case.
