Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Are Here at Yankee Stadium for Yankees-Rays ALDS Game 3 — Look Who’s Sitting With Them

I checked the reporting around the Chiefs–Raiders game. The 30–27 Kansas City victory and Kubiak’s halftime confidence are confirmed, but I couldn’t verify a credible report that Kubiak “erupted” over a sequence suggesting Mahomes knew something before the snap. So I’d frame that part as a viral/question-driven angle rather than established fact.

THAT CAN’T BE POSSIBLE!” Patrick Mahomes Moment Sparks Questions After Chiefs’ Dramatic Win Over Raiders

The Kansas City Chiefs’ dramatic 30–27 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders has sparked plenty of discussion—but one sequence involving Patrick Mahomes has fans looking much deeper into what happened before the snap.

With the Raiders pushing Kansas City to the limit at Allegiant Stadium, attention quickly turned toward Mahomes and the Chiefs’ ability to make critical adjustments when the pressure was at its highest.

The viral conversation centers on the suggestion that Mahomes appeared to recognize what Las Vegas was preparing to do before the ball was snapped. To some viewers, his positioning and decision-making looked almost too perfectly timed, leading to the explosive online reaction:

“THAT CAN’T BE POSSIBLE!”

However, there is an important distinction between what fans are speculating about and what has actually been reported. There is no verified evidence that Kubiak accused Mahomes or the Chiefs of knowing the Raiders’ play in advance, nor have credible reports confirmed that the Raiders coach “erupted” over such a discovery.

What is confirmed is that Las Vegas used an aggressive defensive approach against Mahomes throughout the game. The Raiders pressured him heavily and, late in the fourth quarter, defensive coordinator Rob Leonard called an aggressive nickel blitz on third-and-5. Mahomes recognized the pressure and found Tyquan Thornton for a huge 55-yard completion, setting up the Chiefs’ go-ahead touchdown.

That play became one of the biggest turning points of the afternoon.

Mahomes finished the game 15-of-30 for 225 yards and two touchdowns, while Kenneth Walker III provided a massive boost on the ground with 177 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Kansas City ultimately improved to 4–0, while Las Vegas fell to 3–1.

Kubiak’s Bold Prediction Comes Back to Haunt Him

Adding even more drama to the story was Kubiak’s remarkable halftime confidence.

With the Raiders leading 13–10, the first-year head coach was asked about his team’s performance during a CBS sideline interview.

His response was unmistakable:

“We’re going to win the game.”

For much of the afternoon, it looked as though he might be right.

But Mahomes and the Chiefs eventually flipped the game in the fourth quarter.

Kansas City scored 20 points in the final period, including two touchdowns in a span of just 19 seconds after the Raiders committed a costly fumble on a kickoff return.

Kubiak later acknowledged that the Raiders simply failed to execute in several crucial moments.

👀 So What Did Mahomes Actually See?

That’s where the intrigue begins.

Quarterbacks at Mahomes’ level routinely diagnose defensive formations before the snap, identify blitz indicators and change their decisions based on how defenders move. A quarterback appearing to “know” what is coming therefore doesn’t, by itself, establish anything unusual.

And the available reporting indicates that the Raiders themselves had discussed the aggressive pressure package used against Mahomes during the week. Linebacker Nakobe Dean said the defense had prepared for the situation and decided to attack.

Mahomes’ response was simply what elite quarterbacks are expected to do: recognize the pressure, identify the opportunity and deliver the football.

Still, the sequence has become perfect fuel for NFL fans who love breaking down every movement before the snap.

Was Mahomes simply reading the defense brilliantly?

Did the Raiders give away the pressure?

Or did Kansas City recognize something in the formation that allowed Mahomes to anticipate exactly where the opening would appear?

Those questions are fueling the online debate—but the evidence currently supports a football explanation rather than a confirmed controversy.

And with Kansas City remaining undefeated, Mahomes once again demonstrated why opposing defenses can do almost everything right for three quarters and still find themselves trying to solve the same impossible problem when the game reaches its biggest moments.

The Chiefs got the win. Kubiak got the lesson. And Mahomes gave NFL fans another moment to dissect. 🏈🔥
