Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Hit Roadblock Over Security Fence at Ohio Home

OHIO — Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have reportedly encountered an unexpected obstacle as they try to increase privacy and security around their new home in Bratenahl, Ohio.

The couple reportedly wanted to install a large fence around the lakeside property, but local planning rules presented a problem.

According to the report, Swift and Kelce sought an approximately 8-foot fence around their estate. However, the Bratenahl Architectural Review Board has rules limiting the height of fences around lakefront properties.

The regulations reportedly restrict such fences to about 2½ feet, unless the structure is at least 75% transparent.

The restrictions are designed to protect views of Lake Erie and preserve the character of the area’s lakefront properties.

For Swift and Kelce, however, privacy is particularly important. Their relationship has attracted enormous attention since they began dating, with fans and photographers frequently monitoring their public appearances.

The couple reportedly discussed the situation with neighbors and local officials and ultimately agreed to a lower fencing arrangement that would not completely surround the property.

The fence dispute does not appear to mean that the couple has abandoned security plans.

The report says additional security measures have been introduced around the property, including an alarm system that can issue a warning to people who come too close to the home.

A local real-estate agent quoted in the report said there had not been major disruption in the neighborhood since the couple moved in.

Kelce’s Ohio Connection

Kelce purchased the property in March, before his marriage to Swift.

The mansion reportedly covers around 21,000 square feet and includes eight bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a game room and a theater. The property was reportedly purchased for approximately $5.35 million.

The location also has a personal connection for Kelce, as Bratenahl is only a few miles from Cleveland Heights, where the Kansas City Chiefs star grew up.
