Donald Trump’s Approval Rating Changes Among Most-Conservative Americans
Recent polling shows that Donald Trump’s support remains strongest among the most conservative Republican groups, but even some of those groups have become less approving of his performance.
A Pew Research Center survey conducted July 6–12, 2026, found that 89% of the “No Apologies Right” approved of Trump’s job performance, down from 94% in January and 95% in September 2025. Among Faith First Conservatives, approval stood at 77%, down from 84% in January.
The changes are more pronounced among right-leaning groups that are less ideologically aligned with Trump. Approval among the Unconventional Right fell to 51%, from 60% in January, while the Pragmatic and Polite Right was at 34%, down from 36%.
More recent national polling also shows Trump’s overall approval at 35%–37%, depending on the poll. Reuters/Ipsos measured 35% approval in its September 11–14 survey, while Marquette found 37% approval in its September 2–9 poll.
The bigger story: Trump’s core conservative support remains substantially higher than his overall approval, but polling suggests some erosion even among portions of his right-leaning coalition.
